1. February 18: Jack Butler, S.J., is BC's next president
The year started off with an exciting announcement: Haub Vice President for Mission and Ministry Rev. John T. "Jack” Butler, S.J., will succeed William P. Leahy, S.J., becoming the University's 26th president."What an incredible appointment," one commenter wrote on . "He is a true embodiment of the Jesuit mission."

2. February 25: BC students organize fundraiser for LA wildfire victims 
After a disastrous spate of January wildfires renders thousands of Los Angeles residents homeless, Marine Degryse ’26 and Georgia Paris ’26 step up to help, raising $10,000 for relief funds in California.

3.May 7: Remembering the first Jesuit pope
As the world mourns the passing of Pope Francis, BC News shares a collection of articles, photographs, and meetings that connected the first Jesuit pope with the BC community during his 12-year papacy.

4.May 19: Celebrating the Class of 2025
Boston College's 149th Commencement Exercises are (quite literally) picture-perfect, and  from the day posted to BC's social channels garner thousands of likes and congratulatory messages from proud alumni, parents, and friends.

5. August 24: Smile, Class of 2029!
It takes more than two minutes to stage the beloved first-year class photo, but a speeds up the process for Facebook followers, who welcome the newest crop of Eagles to the Heights.

6. August 26: BC named a Top College for career success
Thousands of followers chime in on a celebrating BC's inclusion in the social platform's first Top Colleges ranking, which identifies the 50 U.S. schools that "best set graduates up for long-term success."

7. September 10: Alumnus Greg Boyle, S.J., speaks to BCSSW students 
On campus to speak at First Year Academic Convocation, the Jesuit priest and founder of Homeboy Industries stops by the BC School of Social Work for a Q&A. His advice to students to "embrace ‘radical kinship’ in their work" resonates with more than 300 commenters on .

8. October 6: BC Prison Education Program hosts second graduation
It's a year of growth and celebration for the University's Prison Education Program, which shares from its second commencement ceremony at MCI-Shirley along with plans to expand to the state's only women's prison. Both are met with enthusiasm on Facebook. "I love BC sports but THIS is really something to cheer about," says one alumna.

9.October 10: Marathoner James Redding sets Guinness World Record
Junior James Redding becomes the youngest male athlete to complete all six world marathon majors, just six years into his running career, earning well-deserved .

10. November 2: Emmet Sheehan becomes first BC baseball player to win the World Series
The Red Sox are eliminated in the Wild Card Series, but the BC community celebrates as former Eagles pitcher Emmet Sheehan earns a World Series ring with the LA Dodgers."Congratulations, Emmet! You made BC proud!" writes one fan on .

11. November 29: Eagle’s Nest re-opens
BC Dining Services cuts the ribbon on a "brighter, more welcoming" Eagle's Nest dining room, which boasts new flooring, ceilings, lighting, furniture, and design layouts. Alumni compliment the new design and share memories of past experiences there on .
