Kimberly Atkins Stohr is a senior opinion writer and columnist with more than 20 years of experience covering politics, policy and law. She is an on-air political analyst for MSNBC, a frequent panelist on NBC鈥檚 鈥淢eet the Press,鈥� and co-host of the popular Politicon legal news podcast #SistersInLaw.

Previously, Atkins Stohr was the first Washington, DC-based news correspondent for WBUR. She has also served as the Boston Herald鈥檚 Washington bureau chief, guest host of C-SPAN鈥檚 morning call-in show "Washington Journal," and a Supreme Court reporter for Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and its sister publications. Before launching her journalism career, she was a civil trial and appellate litigation attorney in Boston.

She is a graduate of Wayne State University, Boston University School of Law and Boston University College of Communication, and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Mary Beckman served as Acting Secretary and then as Senior Advisor in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services in 2023-2024, where she has advised the Secretary and the Governor on a variety of health care related matters.

Beckman was previously Chief of the Health Care and Fair Competition Bureau in the Massachusetts Attorney General鈥檚 office, overseeing the Non-Profit Organizations/Public Charities, Health Care, Antitrust, Medicaid Fraud, and False Claims Divisions (2015-2023). She previously led the Non-Profit Organizations/Public Charities Division, which oversees public charities, including all nonprofit hospitals and health insurers in Massachusetts. Beckman served as an Advisor during the drafting of the first Restatement of the Law of Charitable Nonprofit Organizations and has taught Nonprofit Organization Law at New England Law Boston.

Prior to joining the Attorney General's Office in 2011, Beckman was the Chief Compliance Officer at Boston Children's Hospital.听 Previously, Beckman served the Commonwealth as the Assistant Secretary for Health Policy, focusing on policy development and implementation as well as providing guidance with respect to potential hospital closures and nursing home receiverships. Beckman also served as Deputy Legal Counsel to Governors William Weld and Paul Cellucci. Beckman began her legal career as an Associate Ropes & Gray specializing in health law.

Beckman is a graduate of the Yale Law School and Dartmouth College. She clerked for the Hon. H. Lee Sarokin of the U.S. District Court of New Jersey. She is an elected member of the American Law Institute.

Anthony J. Benedetti is the Chief Counsel of the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), Massachusetts鈥� public defender agency. CPCS provides representation to approximately 285,000 indigent clients each year in criminal, delinquency, child welfare, and mental health matters through 800 staff, including 425 staff attorneys, and more than 2,800 assigned private counsel. Since becoming Chief Counsel, Benedetti has overseen substantial agency expansion in response to legislative changes in the delivery of indigent defense services.

From 1998 to 2010, he served as CPCS General Counsel, representing the agency before all branches of government on legislative and budget matters. He previously spent five years as a public defender in the Brockton office and began his CPCS career as an Audit Specialist while earning his law degree.

Benedetti is the current President of the National Association for Public Defense (2025鈥�2026) and serves on the House of Delegates and the Executive Management Board of the Massachusetts Bar Association. He has been an active member of the American Council of Chief Defenders and a past active member of the Boston Bar Association. He previously served on the board of the National Legal Aid & Defender Association and was deeply involved in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers鈥� State Legislative Network. In addition, he is a former member of the Massachusetts Criminal Systems History Board and a former Chair of the Massachusetts Firearm Law Review Board.

A longtime adjunct professor at Suffolk University, he has taught courses in legal issues, criminal justice policy, delinquency, child welfare, and the death penalty. He was recently inducted into the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame, recognized in 2005 by Suffolk Lawyers for Justice for his advocacy on access to justice, and received the 2017 NACDL Champion of State Criminal Justice Reform Award for his work on progressive criminal justice reforms in Massachusetts.

James Bor-Zale is a Counsel at WilmerHale where he represents a wide range of clients in complex litigation matters with a focus on intellectual property disputes. Bor-Zale also maintains a robust pro bono practice and has represented clients in asylum, CORI sealing, First Amendment, housing, military discharge upgrade, and sex trafficking matters. Before joining WilmerHale, Bor-Zale was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Scott L. Kafker of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Bor-Zale received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Cornell University, and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School. During law school, Bor-Zale was a 2015 Rappaport Fellow in Law and Public Policy, served on the Executive Board of the Boston College Law Review, and was Vice President of the Law Students Association. Before his legal career, Bor-Zale taught high school math in the Mississippi Delta through Teach for America.

Michael Caljouw is the Massachusetts Commissioner of Insurance, appointed by Governor Maura Healey in October of 2024. As Commissioner, he oversees the Massachusetts insurance market, an approximately $70 billion industry that ranks in the top ten largest in the country and 27th globally. Commissioner Caljouw is deeply committed to ensuring stable, affordable, and transparent insurance markets and safeguarding consumer interests.听

Commissioner Caljouw has over three decades of public and private experience. Prior to his current appointment, he was Vice President at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, directing their policy and regulatory portfolio, supervising the contracts team and leading company implementation of laws and regulations. He was senior counsel at the national law firm, Holland & Knight, and previously led organizations within the Massachusetts executive and legislative branches.听

Raised in Boston, Commissioner Caljouw graduated from Boston Latin School, Williams College and Suffolk University Law School, serving on the Law Review and earning his Juris Doctorate cum laude. He has taught at Boston University School of Law and is a frequent lecturer on critical insurance, policy, and regulatory issues. He is an active mentor to emerging leaders in public policy and regulation, receiving the Better Government Award, Suffolk Law School鈥檚 Outstanding Alumni Service Award and the Arthritis Foundation鈥檚 Community Warrior Award.听听

Commissioner Caljouw is the Chair of the Advisory Board of the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy and he has served on its Advisory Board since 2008.听 He and his wife Ann-Margaret reside in Boston with Carly, their amazing goldendoodle.

Kathryn Carlson is the Executive Director of the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston at the Harvard Kennedy School. She joined the Rappaport Institute in 2020 from A Better City where she was the Director of Transportation, leading the transportation research and policy agendas for the organization as well as overseeing the two Transportation Management Associations (TMAs). Previously, her professional experiences encompass research and policy positions. She spent eight years as a research analyst and economist at Fidelity Investments in Boston covering energy/commodity markets and macroeconomic modeling. From 2003-2005, Carlson served in the Administration of Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle as a senior-level appointee at the Department of Financial Institutions 鈥� the state banking and securities regulator. She managed all legislative, policy and communications functions of the department and provided leadership on a variety of initiatives, including predatory mortgage lending legislation and the development of a public-private partnership to encourage early-stage investing, the Wisconsin Angel Network. Carlson founded Buca Boot LLC, a bicycle product company and invented their flagship product, the Buca Boot, a patented bike-mounted storage system that won Inc. Magazine鈥檚 鈥淏est in Class鈥� Design Award in 2015. She holds both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Economics from Wellesley College and the London School of Economics, respectively.听

Professor R. Michael Cassidy teaches and writes in the areas of Criminal Law, Evidence, and Professional Responsibility. He is considered an expert on the subject of prosecutorial ethics, and provides training nationally to public sector attorneys on their responsibilities under the Rules of Professional Conduct. He is quoted frequently by the media on subjects relating to criminal law and ethics, including appearing in the New York Times, the Boston Globe, and the Boston Herald.

During his extensive career as a government lawyer prior to joining the BC community, Cassidy prosecuted hundreds of serious felony cases involving narcotics trafficking, organized and white collar crime, and public corruption. He has also briefed and argued numerous high-profile criminal matters before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. From 1993 to 1996, Cassidy served as Chief of the Criminal Bureau in the Massachusetts Attorney General鈥檚 Office under then Attorney General Scott Harshbarger.

Among his many professional and community activities, Cassidy has served as Chair of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers, as a member of the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission, as Editor-in-Chief of the Massachusetts Law Review, as a member of the Governor's Commission on Corrections Reform, and as a member of the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission. Cassidy was elected to the American Law Institute in 2012. Cassidy also has served as a legal consultant to the Department of Justice on issues of police misconduct and prosecutorial ethics.

Cassidy received his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School. Following law school he served as law clerk to the Honorable Edward F. Hennessey, Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and then as a litigation associate at the Boston law firm of Foley, Hoag.

Cassidy served as the Faculty Director of BC Law's Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy from 2015-2018. He served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2007-2010 and as Associate Dean for Administration and Finance from 1996 to 2002. He has four times been awarded the Emil Slizewski prize for distinguished teaching by the graduating class at commencement.

Rebekah Levine Coley, Ph.D. is Professor of Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology and Director of the Center for Child and Family Policy at Boston College. She received her doctorate in Developmental Psychology from the University of Michigan and postdoctoral training in demography and public policy at the University of Chicago.

Professor Coley鈥檚 expertise lies in assessing and counteracting economic, social, and racial inequities in mental and behavioral health and educational and economic attainment. Her research employs quantitative, qualitative, and evaluation methodologies to assess and inform social and educational policies and practices which seek to disrupt the transmission of inequities to children, families, and communities.听 Professor Coley鈥檚 research has been published in dozens of leading journals and edited volumes, and has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Australian Research Council, and numerous private foundations.听 She was the founding Editor of the Child Evidence Brief series published by the Society for Research in Child Development which translates developmental science to federal and state policy makers, and has held leadership positions in the Society for Research in Child Development, the Society for Research on Adolescence, the Child Care and Early Education Policy Research Consortium, and the University-based Child and Family Policy Consortium.听 Her research excellence has been recognized through receipt of a Fulbright Senior Scholar Award, a Social Policy Award from the Society for Research in Adolescence, and the inaugural Mavis Hetherington Award in Applied Developmental Science from the American Psychological Association.

Susan (Sue) Finegan is a Member of the Litigation Section and is Chair of the ProBono Committee at Mintz. Appointed the firm鈥檚 first Pro Bono Partner in 2007, Finegan serves as lead counsel on numerous high profile pro bono litigation matters. She also manages the firm鈥檚 pro bono efforts, consisting of over 300 varied cases annually throughout all of the firm鈥檚 offices, and advises firm clients on developing and sustaining pro bono programs within their in-house legal Departments.

Finegan has been a tireless and innovative advocate for low-income people in Massachusetts and beyond. Through her former leadership on the Access to Justice Commission, she spearheaded creative funding mechanisms to support legal aid organizations and developed the statewide civil appellate pro bono program forself-represented litigants. Ten years ago, she co-founded the Access to Justice Fellows program, in which over 225 retired and retiring lawyers have devoted over 300,000 pro bono hours at legal services organizations, nonprofits, and the courts. Finegan is also an experienced nonprofit board member, currently serving on the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College. In that role, she chairs the Auditand Oversight Committee and serves as one of the Board鈥檚 Vice Chairs. She also serves on the Boston Bar Foundation Board of Directors and the Rappaport Center Advisory Board.

From 2004 to 2007, Finegan was Legal Director of the Victim Rights Law Center, overseeing free statewide civil legal services to sexual assault survivors and providing training to legal aid attorneys nationally. While previously at Mintz, from 1993 to 2004, as an associate and then a partner, Finegan handled complex commercial, white collar, defamation, land use, and insurance defense matters in both state and federal trial and appellate courts. Following law school, Finegan served as a law clerk for the Honorable Andrew A. Caffrey at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and for the Honorable Francis P. O鈥機onnor at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Peter Flaherty is cofounder and Principal of Esplanade Strategies, a public affairs and political strategy consulting firm. He has advised on policy, strategy, and debate preparation for campaigns on the state, federal and national level, including races for Governor, United States Congress, United States Senate and President of the United States.听 Peter is a Distinguished Visiting Lecturer in the political science department at The College of The Holy Cross and a former Executive Fellow at the Harvard Business School and Senior Fellow at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics. Peter served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Mitt Romney and Chief of Staff to Lt. Governor Kerry Healey.

A graduate of New England Law | Boston, Peter began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney鈥檚 Office, where he prosecuted homicides and other serious crimes. Peter is also a senior advisor to a national victims' rights organization, a trustee of New England Law | Boston and Endicott College, as well as a board member of the Suffolk County Children's Advocacy Center in Boston.

Sean M. Fontes is a graduate of Boston College Law School and currently serves as an Employment and Litigation Counsel at Partridge Snow & Hahn.听 Prior to PSH, he led the Legal Division at the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training (DLT), serving under three administrations.听听

Fontes has an extensive litigation background in criminal, civil, and corporate taxation law. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Roger Williams University since 2006 and has taught courses in torts, legal research and writing, and the law of business organizations.

Nikki is ARTBIO's Chief Legal Officer and oversees the company's legal and regulatory strategy. With extensive experience in the life sciences sector, Nikki most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Akebia Therapeutics, where she guided the company through its transition from a private, clinical-stage entity to a publicly traded company with two commercial products. Prior to that, Nikki was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, where she played a key role in the successful sale of the company's hemophilia assets. Nikki began her in-house legal career in life sciences at Genzyme Corporation where she supported various business units during her ten years with the company. Prior to Genzyme she was an associate at Foley Hoag, representing biopharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers in a wide range of legal matters. She received a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Boston College Law School

Dr. Michael Jellinek is a pediatrician, adult and child psychiatrist and has been on the staff of Massachusetts General Hospital for 42 years. At MGH, he served as Chief of Child Psychiatry from 1979-2012 and was the Senior Vice President of Administration.听 Jellinek was appointed President of Newton Wellesley Hospital from 2000-2012 and Chief Clinical Officer of Partners HealthCare from 2012-2014. After three years as CEO of Lahey Health鈥檚 Community Network, Jellinek started his own company, Ulysses Consulting. He is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.

His son, David, graduated from Boston College Law School in 2000 and his daughter, Hannah, was a 2017 Rappaport Fellow and received her JD from Boston College Law School and MSW from Boston College School of Social Work in 2019. His son, Izzy, is an officer in the LAPD. Jellinek lives with his wife, Barbara, in Newton.

Daniel Kanstroom is Professor of Law, Thomas F. Carney Distinguished Scholar, and a former Associate Director of the Boston College Center for Human Rights and International Justice. He teaches Immigration and Refugee Law, International Human Rights Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, and the International Human Rights Semester in Practice. Kanstroom was the Founder of the Boston College Immigration and Asylum clinic in which students represent indigent noncitizens and asylum-seekers. Together with his students, he has won many high-profile immigration and asylum cases and has provided counsel for hundreds of clients over more than a decade. He and his students have also written amicus briefs for the U.S. Supreme Court, organized innumerable public presentations in schools, churches, community centers, courts and prisons, and have advised many community groups. He was a co-Founder of the Immigration Spring Break Trips, where students work on immigration law cases during their Spring Break. Kanstroom鈥檚 newest initiative, the Post-Deportation Human Rights Project, seeks to conceptualize and develop a new field of law while representing US deportees abroad and undertaking empirical study of the effects of deportation on families and communities.

Kanstroom has published widely in the fields of U.S. immigration law, criminal law, and European citizenship and asylum law. His most recent books are: Aftermath: Deportation Law and the New American Diaspora, (Oxford University Press 2012); and Deportation Nation: Outsiders in American History (Harvard University Press 2007). He is also a co-editor of: The New Deportations Delirium (editor, with M. Brinton Lykes); Constructing 鈥淚llegality鈥�: Immigrant Experiences, Critiques, and Resistance, (editor, with Cecilia Menj铆var) (Cambridge University Press 2013).

His articles and short pieces have appeared in such venues as the Harvard Law Review, Yale Journal of International Law, UCLA Law Review, NYU Journal of International Law and Politics, Georgetown Immigration Law Journal, The New York Times, Journal of Social History, and the French Gazette du Palais. Kanstroom has served on the American Bar Association's Immigration Commission and the Advisory Board of the PAIR Project, and was rapporteur for the American Branch of the Refugee Law Section of the International Law Association. Kanstroom served as the Faculty Director of BC Law's Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy from 2018-2025. He has been a visiting Professor at the University of Paris, the University of Boulogne sur Mer, Northeastern School of Law, American University, King鈥檚 College, London, and Vermont Law School.

脗n H. L锚 is the Deputy Chief of Policy and Programs for the City of Boston鈥檚 Equity and Inclusion Cabinet. In this role, he leads policy and program development, research, evaluation, communications, and some program delivery for advancing the Mayor鈥檚 equity and inclusion priorities, with an emphasis on racial justice and focusing on the historically excluded populations served by the eight City departments in the Equity and Inclusion Cabinet.

He has taught at the School of Social Work and the Continuing Education program at Boston College. Previously, 脗n served in public policy, communications, and community engagement roles for the Boston Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement. Prior to working for the City of Boston, he worked with children needing mental health support and with families experiencing financial and food insecurity.听

脗n holds Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work degrees from Boston College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine. He is a child of Vietnamese refugees and a native speaker of Vietnamese. Being able to contribute to building a strong, vibrant community for his family and all of Boston鈥檚 families motivates him every day.

Eric Lesser is a Senior Counsel at WilmerHale, where he advises clients on complex issues at the intersection of law, public policy, and strategy. Before joining WilmerHale, Lesser served as a Massachusetts state senator and as a White House aide. During his tenure in the Senate, he chaired the Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, helping craft major legislative packages on economic growth, housing, life sciences, sports wagering, consumer protection, intellectual property, and transportation infrastructure. Lesser founded a workshop series on running for public office at Harvard鈥檚 Institute of Politics and Center for Public Leadership and was a Fellow at Harvard鈥檚 Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government. He has also taught political science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and contributed as a script consultant for seven seasons for HBO鈥檚 Emmy Award-winning comedy VEEP. In addition to serving on the Rappaport Center Advisory Board, Lesser sits on the boards of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund, the Center for Human Development, and Bay Path University.

Patricia A. McCoy is the inaugural Liberty Mutual Insurance Professor and Rappaport Center Faculty Director at Boston College Law School. A nationally prominent scholar in financial regulation, her most recent book,听听 with the University of California Press, discusses the financial precarity of American families. In 2010 and 2011, she joined the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she helped form the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and, as the CFPB鈥檚 first assistant director for mortgage markets, oversaw the Bureau鈥檚 mortgage policy initiatives. She teaches insurance law as well as banking regulation and a full array of other financial services regulatory courses. After receiving her law degree from University of California Berkeley School of Law, Professor McCoy clerked for the Hon. Robert S. Vance on the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and was a Partner at Mayer Brown in Washington, D.C., specializing in complex securities, banking and constitutional litigation. More recently, she was the Director of the Insurance Law Center at the University of Connecticut School of Law before joining the Boston College faculty.

Professor McCoy's research interests focus on the nexus among financial products, consumer welfare, and systemic risk, analyzed through the lens of law, economics, and empirical methods. In in the Texas Law Review in 2002, Professor McCoy was among the first to raise alarms about the dangers of subprime loans. She has four books to her credit, including with Kathleen Engel, published by Oxford University Press in 2011. The author of numerous book chapters and articles, she has testified before Congress and been quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and on National Public Radio. Previously, Professor McCoy was a Visiting Scholar at the MIT Economics Department and served on the Federal Reserve鈥檚 Consumer Advisory Council and on the board of the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association. In 2012, the American Law Institute named her as an Adviser to the Restatement of the Law, Consumer Contracts. She also served on the Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Insurance Policy Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve.

M. Patrick Moore concentrates his practice in business, administrative, and appellate litigation at Hemenway & Barnes. A former Attorney in the White House and Massachusetts Governor鈥檚 Office, Moore has a unique understanding of the legislative process, government regulations, and litigation. From challenging a regulatory action to advising on ballot initiatives, Moore is a strong advocate at the local, state, and federal level.

Moore advises clients on the impact of legislation, regulation, and sub-regulatory initiatives. He also counsels clients on a variety of election law, election recount, ballot, and campaign finance issues, including political action committees (PACs) and super PACs.

Moore has litigated at each level of the Massachusetts court system and in federal district and appellate courts throughout the country. In addition to advocating before federal and state regulatory agencies, Moore also represents clients before professional licensure boards.

Before joining Hemenway & Barnes, Moore was an Associate Counsel and Advisor for Presidential Personnel at the White House in the administration of President Barack Obama. There, he vetted prospective Presidential nominees for executive, judicial, and independent agency positions; evaluated clemency petitions; and analyzed innumerable legal issues inherent in the administration of the federal government.

In addition, Moore was a Deputy Counsel in the Office of the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, under Governor Deval L. Patrick and Governor Charles D. Baker. Among other responsibilities, Moore analyzed and provided actionable advice on the many constitutional, legislative, and regulatory issues that affect (or can be affected by) the Office of the Governor.

At the outset of his legal career, Moore practiced for several years at a large Boston firm, a period that included a fellowship in the Government Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General鈥檚 Office. He served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and to the Honorable Robert J. Cordy of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.

Donna Patalano is the inaugural Director of the Justice Review Unit at the Attorney General's Office. In this role, she investigates claims of innocence and advocates for policy and legislative reform through a conviction integrity lens, with a particular focus on improving discovery compliance in post-conviction litigation. Patalano has worked on innocence investigations both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney.

A former General Counsel and Chief of Professional Integrity & Ethics at the Suffolk County DA鈥檚 Office, Patalano created the state鈥檚 first Conviction Integrity Program and has contributed to 14 exonerations totaling 415 years of wrongful incarceration. She has argued approximately 200 appellate cases, including more than two dozen before the Supreme Judicial Court. The SJC appointed Patalano to the Committee on Grand Jury Proceedings as well as the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers (BBO). She served as the BBO's Chair from 2015-17. The Town of Winchester Select Board appointed her as a member of its Zoning Board of Appeals for a dozen years.

She is a graduate of Boston University and Boston College Law School, and began her legal career clerking for the Hon. Elspeth Cypher on the Massachusetts Appeals Court.

Phyllis Rappaport is the chairperson for the Phyllis & Jerome Lyle Rappaport Foundation. She is also a Director of the New Boston Fund, Inc., a real estate investment company with $1.5 billion in assets under management, and Co-Founder and Director of the Cure Alzheimer鈥檚 Fund.

Ms. Rappaport has an extensive background in public and non-profit service, including serving as an elected member of the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee for seven years. She serves on college, hospital, museum, and public policy boards throughout the region including the President鈥檚 Council of Massachusetts General Hospital, the DeCordova Museum, and the Advisory Board for Harvard University鈥檚 Taubman Center for State and Local Government.

Previously, Ms. Rappaport held leadership positions at corporations such as Hewlett Packard and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Ms. Rappaport graduated from Smith College and Simmons Graduate School of Management. Over the years, Ms. Rappaport has been a dedicated and generous contributor to numerous charitable and civic organizations in Boston, and the Rappaport Foundation will continue that tradition.

Paige Scott Reed was Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Maura T. Healey, joining the Governor from the start of her administration. Prior to her time in the Healey-Driscoll Administration, Scott Reed led a successful transportation, litigation, and labor and employment practice at Prince Lobel. She was instrumental in establishing MassAutonomy, a non-profit dedicated to advancing next-generation aviation in Massachusetts; served as Corporate Secretary and General Counsel to the organizing committee for Boston鈥檚 2024 Olympic bid; and served as the Chief Legal Officer for MassDOT and the MBTA.鈥�

Scott Reed served as the President of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association and Vice-President for the Harvard Law School Association of Massachusetts. Scott Reed also served on the Executive Council of the Boston Bar Association, the Board of the Boston Bar Foundation, and the Board of Boston Harbor Now.

Scott Reed received her A.B. from Harvard College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was an Executive Editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Tanisha M. Sullivan is the president of the NAACP Boston Branch.听 With one of the largest membership rosters in New England and a legacy of committed service, the NAACP Boston Branch is a leading voice on issues of racial diversity, economic justice, equity and opportunity in public education and the elimination of health disparities in and around the City of Boston.听

Professionally, Sullivan is Associate General Counsel to a biotech company in Cambridge.听 Prior to joining the company, Sullivan practiced corporate law with large firms and major corporations in the Greater Boston and New York City areas focused on venture capital, private equity, and M&A.听 Committed to public service, from 2013- 2015, Sullivan left corporate practice to serve in a senior policy role with the Boston Public Schools as the district鈥檚 Chief Equity Officer.

Sullivan earned a BA in Government from the University of Virginia, a JD from Boston College Law School and an MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management.听 Having served on a number of non-profit boards in the Greater Boston Area, she currently serves on the regional leadership team of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is a member of the WGBH Board of Advisors. Sullivan is the recipient of several prestigious civic and professional recognitions, including the 2018 Leading Woman award from the Girl Scouts of Eastern MA, the MLK Legacy Award from St. Cyprian鈥檚 Church, and the BBJ 40 Under 40 recognition.

Walczak is most associated with the re-development of the Codman Square area of Boston, a multi-cultural community which foundered in the 1970s and became an area known for racial unrest and economic disintegration. Walczak was founding president and CEO of the Codman Square Health Center, a major factor in the regeneration of the community, was founding president of Codman Academy Charter School, and most recently was CEO of the South End Community Health Center in Boston where he developed a joint medical residency in psychiatry and family medicine.听 He has been a President and/or CEO of health care organizations for 42 years. He is currently retired from regular employment and writes columns for his community newspaper, The Dorchester Reporter.

Walczak is chair of the Board of Trustees of Bunker Hill Community College, and chair of the Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education. He is a trustee of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education, representing community colleges. He was founding president of the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, a founder of the Edward Kennedy Health Careers Academy, a founder of the Center for Community Health, Education, Research and Service at Northeastern University, and founding president of Boston HealthNet. He is a past President of the UMass/Boston Alumni Association. He serves on the boards of the Rappaport Center at Boston College Law School, FAMILY, Daily Table, HealthWorks at Codman, The American City Coalition, the Pat Cooke Fund, the Trustees Group, and Massachusetts State College Building Authority. Walczak is the elected president of the Columbia-Savin Hill Civic Association, representing a large part of the Dorchester neighborhood.

Walczak served on both Governors Deval Patrick鈥檚 and Charlie Baker鈥檚 Health Care Transition Committees, and on Acting Mayor Kim Janey鈥檚 Transition Committee.听 He is also co-director of the Pat Cook Fund, which supports curriculum development around the environment. Walczak has worked on community regeneration efforts in a number of countries around the world. He was involved with the Northern Irish peace process for over a decade and led a program in post-apartheid South Africa that included support of patients with HIV, support of a women鈥檚 empowerment center, built a technology center for a school and developed a micro-enterprise project. He helped to develop a family medicine program for the country of Vietnam. Walczak has received numerous awards for his work and ideas.

Michelle Wu is the Mayor of Boston. She is a daughter of immigrants, Boston Public Schools mom to two boys and a girl, MBTA commuter, and fierce believer that we can solve our deepest challenges through building community.听

First elected to the Boston City Council in November 2013 at the age of 28, Wu is the first Asian-American woman to serve on the Council. In January 2016, she was elected President of the City Council by her colleagues in a unanimous vote, becoming the first woman of color to serve as Council President.As a Councilor, Mayor Wu was the lead sponsor of Boston's Paid Parental Leave ordinance and Healthcare Equity ordinance prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity 鈥� both of which passed unanimously through the Council and were signed into law by former Mayor Martin J. Walsh. She also authored Boston鈥檚 Communications Access ordinance, which guarantees translation, interpretation and assistive technology for access to City services regardless of English language proficiency or communications disability.

Mayor Wu got her start in City Hall working for Mayor Thomas M. Menino as a Rappaport Fellow in Law and Public Policy, where she created the city鈥檚 first guide to the restaurant permitting process from start to finish, and was also a driving force to launch Boston鈥檚 food truck program. She later served as statewide Constituency Director in the U.S. Senate campaign of her former law professor, Elizabeth Warren.

As a former restaurant owner, legal services attorney, and legal guardian of her younger sister, Wu understands firsthand the barriers that families and communities face.听 She has a background in community advocacy, having worked at the WilmerHale Legal Services Center in Jamaica Plain, providing legal advice to low-income small business owners, as well as at the Medical-Legal Partnership at Boston Medical Center on immigration law cases for survivors of domestic violence.In 2016, Councilor Wu was honored as one of Ten Outstanding Young Leaders by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and as part of Marie Claire magazine鈥檚 New Guard: The 50 Most Influential Women in America.Mayor Wu graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. She is fluent in Mandarin and Spanish, and lives in Roslindale with her husband Conor, her sons Blaise and Cass, and her daughter Mira.听
